Alston, William. “Two Types of Foundationalism.” The Journal of Philosophy, 73: 165-185. An examination of two different types of foundationalism and why each side argues for their respective denomination of foundationalism.
Audi, Robert. Epistemology: A Contemporary Introduction to the Theory of Knowledge. An introduction to different theories of epistemology. This book covers the different flavors of foundationalism, and the arguments for and against them.
Descartes, Rene. Meditations on First Philosophy. The premier text on the theory of hard foundationalism and arguments for it. It is pertinent to my paper because Descartes was the founder of modern hard foundationalism.
Haack, Susan. Evidence and Inquiry: Towards Reconstruction in Epistemology. An introduction to Haack's own type of foundationalism called "foundherentism." Haack introduces her unique blend of foundationalism and coherentism, comparing knowledge to solving a crossword puzzle.
Wood. W. Jay. Epistemology: Becoming Intellectually Virtuous. Another introductory text on epistemology. It covers different types of foundationalism and explores arguments for and against each.
